Reviews

"This Balaclava is nice. I got the opportunity to enjoy this the other day when I was using the snowblower and wishing I was with my friends in Florida for a few weeks. This item fits well, is warm enough, but not so warm as to make me uncomfortable when I am working outside. I was concerned it would be like the "Turtles" that came out 15 years ago. Those things were way to warm for me if I was moving snow or skiing. This strikes a nice balance. Plus, you get to look like Ninja."

"Loved this balaclava as it was a little warmer than the average balaclava. This came with a breathing piece sewn in which allowed me to breathe without making it steamy. I wore this with my trapper hat during this crazy 2015 winter weather in Boston. Together they kept my face warm and I didn't get my usual windburn on my cheeks. It's a great idea if you are out shoveling snow during high winds. It's also washable, if you aren't worried about washing out the flame retardant."

"This thing is amazing. For me, the mesh area for breathing aligns perfectly with my mouth/nose. The material is thin and very flexible (but very warm) and I can easily fit this thing around my head (I have a pretty big head). It's perfect for walking around my college campus in sub-freezing temps. You can also wear it in a variety of ways besides having your face and head covered. I love this thing. As far as people criticizing this thing's design, I don't think you can actually design it better. Sometimes my glasses fog up, but just a little adjusting the face part fixes that problem easily for me. The mesh part does a good job of letting the air you exhale exit the balaclava. Oh yeah. this thing is glasses-friendly too. Easily goes around the handles of eyeglasses; and comfortably too."

"I've used this while fatbiking, and it's great! It fits nicely under a helmet and keeps my head, face and (especially) ears warm for an hour-long ride in windy 10°F conditions. The mesh by the mouth is a nice feature, allowing your breath to pass through, although it could be a little less dense (some breath still escapes up by my eyes and can fog up sunglasses). It does everything I needed it to do, though, and for the price it can't be beat."

"Nice design. Have not used it yet but I like having the hinged top. If I had this the other day for the blizzard that hit NJ the other day, I would have been able to be out in the snow with my blower. Instead I had to wait for the winds to die down because I didn't want to get whipped in the face with the snow and wind. Hopefully, with this product, I'll be a little more confident/daring to venture out during the next storm. Waiting too long makes snow cleanup a nightmare.... even with a blower."

"I wear glasses, and most winter masks hurt my face when they press my glasses to hard and close on my nose, but this mask is different. It is hinged, so I can make adjustments to it while wearing it to make it more comfortable while doing my chores or walking the dog. I'm glad I discovered it. It is warm enough on my face when the wind is blowing, which it does a lot here in Iowa. For my head, I put up my hood over this mask because the top part of the mask is not warm enough in sub-zero temps or in the wind. It's a great winter accessory."

"Excellent for keeping out the cold and wind! My son works for a solar company, and given that we live in New York, he is not only working on rooftops, but often working in the bitter cold. This mask does a super job keeping his skin covered and protected from the elements, and the fact that the top folds back down if he gets warm but still wants to keep his face covered, is terrific. This has prevented him from getting windburn in near zero temps and 30-40mph winds. I'm extremely happy with how well this works, and would highly recommend this!"

"Balaclava? Bala what? Turns out these were invented in the Crimean War. Not the current one but the one but the one 100s of years ago... I think. Well I just became an electrician and I'm working on a new building at my Alma Mater. It may be cold out side but if you are in a cement building it is much much colder inside the building because the thermal mass of the cement makes the temperature 20 or so degrees colder. It's been about 17 degrees in the building. I was freeeezing and saw this on amazon. I tried it out and WOW!!! It's like I'm in the Bahamas. I look super cool like a ninja. I'm warm. When I get too warm I could pull the top down and it just sits around my neck. I love it. This is a perfect product. I did a lot of research on this product before I bought it and I was not disappointed."

"Toward the end of fall I started running in an effort to get into better shape... then the cold weather came, boy that icy, biting wind really sucks away any motivation that you had mustered up for a run the second you step out the door. I started looking for options and came across this and thought it looked like it would work well and I ordered it.

It came quick and two days later I tried it out for the first time and couldn't believe the difference. It is comfortable to wear while running, it stays in place well so that you don't have to mess with adjusting it while you are running. Best of all it does a great job of keeping the wind out and keeping your face warm. It has a mesh area built into it around your mouth so that you can breath easily and still stay warm.

Over all I'm extremely happy with this. It is warm, comfortable, stays in place, fits well, and it lives up to what I wanted from it. It says windproof and while the windiest day that I ran only had gusts up to about 20 miles per hour it held up to that just fine. I used it a lot this winter and my only regret is that I didn't order it sooner. I'm a fan and will continue to use this whenever the weather warrants it."
