"I bought these for samurai training. while i have not had the opportunity to see how it would hold up against a real sword, they work well against wooden swords. i like the adjustable straps and how easily they come on/off. the velcro is somewhat lacking in adjustability in the middle strap, i cant get it quite snug on that one. (i do have skinny legs) they are comfortable and flexible. seem well-built. i love them so far. plus, they look really cool."

"I have really skinny legs so these fit perfectly. These would even work very well as forearm/elbow guards as well. My only gripe is the tiny amount of velcro used on the straps and the sewing was pretty poor quality. Also , the patella pad needs to be super-glued on once they arrive, since the adhesive was bad too.
All in all, a decent product for the price!"
